TRUCK STOP COFFEE SHOP, (TSCS) is comprised of a group of the most refreshing and exciting artists in the Los Angeles music scene. Their sound is a melodic hybrid of soul, jazz, funk, folk and rock. TSCS's tunes will sneak into your heart and soul and twist your emotions around until you don't know whether to laugh or cry. The band is fronted by the sweet crooning of one Miss. Darcie Frasier. Darcie began her vocal career as a member of the choir in her father's church. Truly there is no other explanation for her soulful presence than that of divine inspiration. The rhythm section (referred to by the group as "the 'A' section") consisting of Anthony Garcia playing fretted and fretless basses, Anthony Amodeo on drums and Adam Alt on percussion, is one of the most intense, body riveting, toe tapping, groove you right out of your seat trios ever assembled. Garcia, who designed and built both of his basses by hand, is a Los Angeles native, while both Amodeo and Alt hail from the Garden State (NJ) in the middle of the Atlantic seaboard. The forces that brought TSCS's 'A' section together were certainly striving for the ultimate state of rhythmic bliss. On electric guitar is the band's newest member, Emilio Mendoza, a veteran of the LA music scene, who offers experimental and eccentric guitar trickery to tantalize even the most cynical of guitar critics. Also on guitar (acoustic and electric), as well as both lead and back-up vocals, is Noel Berman, the group's primary songwriter, whose sad, but sweet lyrics chronicle both the joyful and painful emotions of love, loss, hope and renewal. Together, Mendoza and Berman will wah you right onto the dance floor. The heat emanating from the horn section would be from the sweet, sexy sounds of saxophonist Brandon Hagewood and his spaghetti-horn counterpart Michael "T-Bone" Harrington. Both horn players are students of the renowned CSUN Jazz department.
